Application Process

Application procedures:
  1. Find one of the ESSM faculty who is willing to serve as your major professor. Check their research interests and contact them with your information (research/professional interests, CV, GPR and GRE scores, and preferably unofficial transcripts). Your admission application can not be reviewed until a faculty member has agreed to serve as your chair.
  2. Submit your application (including your statement of purpose) on-line at ApplyTexas.
  3. Use the electronic Letter of Recommendation (LOR) process at TAMU Applicant Information System (AIS) to arrange the submission of your three LORs.
  4. Track the status of your application in AIS. Once your application is completed, fill and submit a short notice that will initiate the departmental review of your application.
Application deadlines:
For US applicants: June 15 for Fall, October 15 for Spring, and March 15 for Summer.
For international applicants: February 15 for Summer/Fall, and September 15 for Spring.
Admissions requirements:
A minimum of 3.0 GPA in the last 60 hours of course work and competitive GRE verbal and quantitative scores is expected; but individual exceptions can be made based on research experiences (for MS and PhD) or professional training (for MAgr and MNRS) and achievements beyond undergraduate study that demonstrate potential for success in a graduate program.
