The Borlaug Institute for International Agriculture has named 6 Ecosystem Science and Management faculty as "Senior Scientist"

The Norman Borlaug Institute for International Agriculture was created 5 years ago to perpetuate the legacy of Dr. Norman Borlaug across Texas A&M University, Texas AgriLife Research, and the Texas AgriLife Extension Service. That legacy of promoting science and education for improved food security and agricultural livelihoods is a privilege and a responsibility. The Borlaug Institute is making great strides enhancing the international agriculture education, research, and extension programs across the Texas A&M University System. However, we are only able to do so through close cooperation with dedicated departments, centers, and colleagues-faculty and staff. We recognize that we are only as strong as the team of scientists and professionals that enthusiastically participate in the Borlaug mission.

The Borlaug Institute is therefore creating a network of faculty members that have partnered with the Institute in the past and continue to make international agriculture an important part of their teaching, research, and extension activities. We are establishing a honorary title system of "Senior Scientist" that provides recognition of the international agriculture work accomplished in the past but also signifies the expectation of future engagement with the Borlaug Institute and the Borlaug legacy.

Dr. Steve Whisenant announced today that the Borlaug Institute for International Agriculture has named 6 Ecosystem Science and Management faculty as "Senior Scientist".
