Dr. Mohanty is an Associate Professor of Hydrologic Modeling Engineering with a dual appointment in the Department of Rangeland Ecology and Management and the Department of Biological and Agricultural Engineering at Texas A&M University. He received his BE in Agricultural Engineering and Technology from Orissa University of Agriculture & Technology, Bhubaneswar, India in 1985. He received his ME in 1987 from Asian Institute of Technology, Bangkok, Thailand with a major in Soil and Water Engineering and a minor in Water Resources Engineering. In 1992 Dr. Mohanty received his PhD in Ph.D., Soil and Water Engineering and Environmental Engineering from Iowa State University, Ames, Iowa.
Dr. Mohanty's research includes water, heat, and chemical transport measurement and modeling in variably-saturated porous media ranging from core-scale to regional-scale; measurement and modeling of hydraulic properties; and preferential water flow and chemical transport through macroporous media.
