Dr. Moore, an Assistant Professor with expertise in ecohydrology and woody vegetation management, joined the Department in February 2005. She received her B.S. (1995) in Applied Biology from Georgia Institute of Technology with emphases in ecology and environmental science; and her Ph.D. (2003) in the interdisciplinary Environmental Sciences with an emphasis in small watershed hydrology and forest ecology. Since completing her Ph.D., Dr. Moore has conducted postdoctoral research at the Texas Agricultural Experiment Station in Uvalde, Texas (2003-2004). Her particular interest is the role of vegetation in the water cycle and how vegetation management/change affects water resources. Dr. Moore is conducting research in Texas and New Mexico comparing water use by native and invasive woody species in riparian ecosystems under different management regimes. Dr. Moore teaches the undergraduate-level course Wetland and Riparian Ecosystem Restoration.
