2 positions - Conservation Steward and Conservation Stewardship Assistant

TNC’s Stewardship and Field Department is now hiring a South Florida Island Conservation Steward and South Florida Island Conservation Stewardship Assistant.

Both of these positions are based in the Florida Keys on David Wolkowsky (Ballast) Key, located in the Key West National Wildlife Refuge.  David Wolkowsky Key is a 14-acre island located 8 miles west of Key West and it is accessible only by boat.  The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service owns the island and its facilities (i.e., two houses, utility building and dock) and it is managed by The Nature Conservancy for habitat protection and support of scientists, educators, and other authorized visitors. The island is not open to the general public. The Steward and a Stewardship Assistant will reside on the island, providing 24-hour security, natural areas and facilities maintenance, and visitor support.
