Dr. Cooper is an Assistant Professor at the Texas A&M AgriLife Research and Extension Center in Vernon, TX.  She joined the Department of Ecosystem Science and Management in March 2017. She received her BS (2011) in Agronomy and Range Management with an emphasis in range management and MS (2013) in Agriculture with an emphasis in agronomy from Tarleton State University.  She received her PhD (2017) in Agronomy with an emphasis in plant physiology from Texas A&M University.  Her doctoral research was conducted in Bastrop State Park and focused on oak and pine physiology and recovery following drought and wildfire.  Dr. Cooper’s research interests include stress physiology, plant/animal interactions, plant adaptations to changes in abiotic conditions, and brush management.
